Whew! I’m dog tired. The Larkin’s just came back from a whirl-wind vacation to Las Vegas. And yes, we took the kids. (We put blinders on them to reduce the impact.) If you’ve been there, you know what I mean. And if you haven’t, let’s just say the city-wide dress code for women is “pants optional”. But that’s a whole other conversation right there. (And I try to keep this email PG-13.) The only redeeming value in the lack of clothing is that it was 110 degrees out there in the Mojave Desert, so you can’t really blame anyone……but honestly, pants are useful things. All in all, the Larkins had a great time out West. There are many pants-friendly, kid-appropriate activities for the whole family. We saw the Cirque du Soleil Love show – just amazing. If you are Beatles fans like us, you MUST go see this show. It is totally worth the hassle of being stuck in the airplane on the runway at Westchester Airport for two and a half hours because of severe thunderstorms. (yes, this actually happened to us.) We had the best dam time at the Hoover Dam. Now, that’s a lot of dam concrete! If we could build a monolithic structure during the Great Depression in less than five years, you would think we could solve the gas crisis we’re in. But that’s a whole other dam conversation too. (Okay, no more dam jokes.) Soooo, I’m sorry if you missed your Sunday Sconification, but to be honest, I haven’t thought about scones, touched a scone, or been asked about a scone for the past 3 days. I’ve been as far away from scones as you can get! I’ll be back next Sunday, plying my wares on the corner. (Scones, that is). And I’ll be wearing pants. Love, Mrs. Larkin
